2014 Easter Eggs

The 2014 Easter Eggs are here. I have been painting eggs for weeks and have just completed painting 95. Each wooden egg is hand painted and sealed with a gloss varnish. I have 7 new designs to choose from and the 8th egg is the  favorite Risen  Risen Lamb egg which is featured every year. If you have ordered eggs in the past this years eggs will be a a great addition to your collection or to the folks you give them  to. You can now order them at  UrbanPasturesArt and recieve them in time for Easter. Ordering is simple and shipping is free.

To celebrate the spring and the coming of Easter  I am hosting a give away this week of one of the eggs. The winner can choose their favorite egg design. Just leave a comment below sharing  what you love most about the season of Spring.

Welcome The Sun

March Give Away

My apologies to those of you who tried to leave a comment in last months Valentine Give Away. I had technical issues here at my website which made it impossible to leave a comment. I cancelled that give away. Now all the issues have been resolved and the good news is I have another giveaway and I hope you will take the time to leave a comment below.

I thought I would repost  the previous entry on embossed metal.

I always love feed back on colors and styles and it occurred to me that it may be a good time to ask you to leave feedback on the embossed  metal pieces. I have 4 basic colors of wood that I mount the metal on, red, aqua, yellow and green. The metal is either copper or aluminum with various designs embossed on the metal. I free hand draw each design into the metal and then use a patina on the copper and a black antique paint on the aluminum. You can see more embossed metal or purchase one by clicking Here

Regrouping and Remodeling

When should you say no?

The art studio has a new work/computer table.

Since my last post on participating in the 30 Day Challenge I have altered my course.
What was I thinking taking on such a challenge when I have commissions to work on, tax preparations, studio remodeling  getting ready for The Made in Montana Trade Show, and updating my website? I realized I had to strip my thinking from the super woman mentality to a more realistic view of what is actually possible for me to do in any given day. I had to give up the painting challenge so that is why you have seen no more posts since the first of January. Instead I chose to make the much needed table in the photo above and to get my paper work ready for filing my 2013 income tax return.

I would also like to apologize to any of you who have gotten some emails from me with posts that were dated from this past summer. I had some website issues and glitches, they were not sent by me, sorry about that. The issues have been fixed and hopefully it won't happen again.

I have been working on getting some new art up on my website. There are many new alcohol ink paintings for purchase. They come matted or they can be purchased  with a frame. Check them out at Urban Pastures Art website, Ink Paintings or at Framed Ink Paintings

30 Day Painting Challenge

I thought it would be great to start off the New Year by participating in Leslie Saeta's 30 paintings in 30 Days. There are over 360 artists signed up to participate and you can see all of their work here at Slices of Life by Leslie Saeta. For sure this will stretch my painting skills and hopefully be a learning experience. I hope you will come often to see may daily work. Here is my first painting for January 1.

Christmas Tidings 2013

Christmas 2013

The Flight Into Egypt
acrylic on wood panel

A very Merry Christmas to all my friends and patrons. I hope this day is filled with joy and blessings for you all. I am celebrating here in Helena with my family and resting from art making. The painting above, Flight Into Egypt is my most recent painting of the Christmas story. It depicts Joseph and Mary fleeing  Bethlehem for Egypt as they seek protection for their new born baby, Jesus, from the violence of King Herod.  I have also included some other art work below. Each of these master pieces have inspired my artistic senses. I hope you will enjoy viewing them all. During this season of gratitude and celebration I am reminded once again  of all the support and encouragement that so many of you have given me in my artistic journey this past year. A big thank you and many blessings to you and your families this Christmas tide and coming New Year.

Forest Adventure

I often refer to my art as and adventure or a  journey. Everyday is different with new twists and turns as I grow and expand both my art and my business.  Like the children walking amongst the tall pines in the painting above I have known that my art journey is not a solo event. There are many of you who have contributed so much to help me get to where I am today. On this Thanksgiving weekend I give thanks for all of you, for your comments, insights, inquires, likes on FaceBook, commissions, teaching opportunities, prayers and sales. Without your continual support I would not be a self employed artist today. Thank you!

For the month of December I am hosting several give aways. The first one is featuring one of my 2013 Christmas Angels. I would love for more people to know about my work so I am hoping to increase the number of Likes on my Facebook Fan Page. My goal is to get to 300 likes by the end of December and  I need your help. To have your name in the drawing for the angel ornament just go to my page, Urban Pastures Art-Maureen L. White and click the Like button. If you are have already clicked the like button just post a comment stating who your favorite non-living artist is. If you do both then your name is in the drawing twice. You can also leave more than one post to get your name in multiple times. The drawing will be Tuesday evening, December 3.

Oh and if you already have a 2013 angel ornament entry anyway and if your name is drawn I will surprise you with another original piece of art!
