The Christmas and Epiphany Cross

This Cross was a commissioned piece I completed this week for The Nest Early Learning Center for children in Hoboken, New Jersey. They ordered it for the season of Epiphany which follows the Christmas season. The children gather each day to hear stories of God's grace and provision to all his people. During the season of Epiphany the children will hear how God, through the birth of his son Jesus, is manifesting himself to all nations and peoples. This special season is filled with awe and wonder. Perhaps our hearts will be opened anew to wonder at God's glory like that of a small child.

Salt Lake City Nativity Painting

I am in Salt Lake City selling my Nativity paintings. I am one of 30 participating vendors at The Convention, Follow the Star. It is hosted by the Society of the Friends of the Creche. This vibrant group of people are dedicated collectors and strong advocates for the preservation of the Nativity. Teir response to my paintings has been very positive and I'm thrilled to meet people with such a passion for the story of the birth of Christ. I have sold several like the one above and hope for more sales over the weekend.

These three angels just returned to my Helena studio from Fairfield Iowa where they were on display at the Emerald Art Gallery. A big thank you to Stacey Hurlin, the owner who hosted a wonderful exhibit called, The Light of God. Hundreds of people came to see the exhibit from around the country and there where artists from across the globe participating.
These angels are very tall measuring 10"W x 28"L. They have been hand cut from birch plywood and painted in acrylics. They are now going to Salt Lake City to attend a convention hosted by The Friends of The Creche.

Three Kings From The East

These colorful kings from the east are ready for the feast of Epiphany. Of course Epiphany is not until January 6. 2010 but these guys have already begun getting ready for the their long Journey to the humble Bethlehem stable. This particular group of Kings is going with me first to a convention in Salt Lake City later this November where they will make their debut appearance before hundreds of nativity collectors.
I have cutout each figure from half inch birch plywood. They can be hung in any order and each figure measures 12"in height.

Christmas Nativity Cards

Below are my Christmas Nativity cards for 2009. These are photographic prints of my large nativity paintings on an embossed greeting card. Each card is blank inside for your own personalized Christmas greeting. The cards measure 5"x7" and come in a cellophane sleeve and an envelope is included.
They would also make meaningful gifts if you just wanted to frame them. Most art stores sell simple 5 x 7 frames that would accommodate the card.
You can order the cards by emailing me at MLWhiteNJ@aol.com
